Nanotechnology and N Guide - Resources and Review

Microengineering refers to the technologies and practice of making three
dimensional structures and devices with dimensions in the order of micrometers. This document introduces three of the micromachining techniques that are in use or under development: silicon micromachining, the Excimer laser and LIGA.

Set of peer reviewed journals in the broad area of physics, with full text access available to members of subscribing institutions. Tables of contents and the full text of featured articles are freely available to all. The electronic journals offer full text with mathematics and graphics, and allow searching, browsing and printing. Some titles, eg Nanotechnology, offer multimedia features such as videos of molecular simulations.

Gallery of images illustrating blood, cellular ultrastructure, digestion, hair, insects, microbes and diseases, parasites, plankton, pollen and spores, plants, yeast, and moulds.

Aims to guide emerging technologies to improve the human condition, focusing on nanotechnology, the ability to build materials and products with atomic precision. Offers specialist and general articles on nanotechnology, and information on news, events and publications.

Offers information on the potential of nanomedicine
the use of engineered nanodevices and nanostructures to monitor, repair, construct, or control human biological systems at a molecular level. Provides answers to frequently asked questions, technical papers on medical nanorobots and nanotechnology, and listings of nanomedicine research organisations and researchers.

A set of images of micromachines so small that they are imperceptible to the human eye, some with gears no bigger than a grain of pollen. Many of the black and white images include dust mites or spider mites to provide a sense of scale. Also some moving images, in Quicktime format.

Quarterly newsletter intended to inform a wide audience about both technical and non
technical developments in nanotechnology, as well as background essays and briefing documents.

Annotated links to 15 online journals and magazines about molecular modelling and nanotechnology.

Collection of information about nanotechnology, including molecular nanotechnology, scanning probe microscopy, molecular modelling, nanoelectronics and micromachining, mailing lists and electronic magazines and journals.

Weekly bulletin from the American Institute of Physics reviewing the latest advances in physics. It is possible to browse subject areas from cosmology to quantum theory, past issues and also search for keywords.

Illustrated speculation about the potential development and possibilities of nanotechnology.
