Shellfish and S Guide - Resources and Review

Collection of papers and speeches addressing issues relating to salmon recovery, fisheries management, state and tribal management, shellfish, private fish stocking, hatcheries, nuisance and endangered species, and education. Official publications such as the 1999 Pacific Salmon Treaty and the Salmon and Steelhead Stock Inventory (SASSI) are also provided.
 
Highlights animal species native to Alaska, giving details of different strains, life history, food habits, and populations. Hunting behaviours are also outlined where applicable. Information is divided into categories headed big game, marine mammals, small game, birds, furbearers, fish, shellfish, and amphibians and reptiles.
 
Conducts aquaculture and fisheries research with a view to disseminating results to relevant bodies such as state and federal agencies. Details projects into oyster farms, clam aquaculture, and genetic issues, and offers bibliographic records of recent publications.
